This new position, based outside Tampa, Florida, is perfect for a sales professional with a proven track record and strong connections within the berry industry that include existing relationships with growers and marketers. You'll collaborate across our network to manage top clients, nurturing existing relationships and generating new business opportunities. This includes working with vendors on product offerings and collaborating with internal teams to drive customer success.

To thrive, you'll need a proven track record in produce sales, ideally berries, along with a deep understanding of the industry and its trends.  Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills are a must, as is a passion for exceeding customer expectations.

The Regional Sales Manager will join this service-oriented, direct distributor of agricultural containers and products for produce packers and growers throughout the world. With our sales volume, national trucking contacts, shipping program and highly skilled staff, we can provide superior service and quality products coast to coast.

From their office just outside of Tampa, Florida, you will work closely with the warehouse, headquarters, and satellite offices to facilitate customer sales. If you have a proven track record of success with produce packers, grower/shippers, food processors and distributor customers, this role offers tremendous growth potential. You will be building upon a very successful branch of our package organization. In this newly developed role, you will be responsible for servicing and managing top-tier customers while fostering and establishing relationships. You will generate new business, working with vendors on new and existing products as well as working effectively with cross functional teams to drive customer results.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Establish and grow new accounts.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts to the operational team to ensure inventory levels are up to date.
  • Evaluate pricing every quarter to ensure and protect margins.
  • Grow territory with topline and bottom-line results.
  • Participate in Industry Association Functions
  • Work with management to develop marketing communications including marketing collateral, promotional items, direct mail, and web sites.
  • Assist in the development of new designs and projects.
  • Work with outside vendors on new materials and new innovative packaging solutions with regards to produce packaging
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements: 
  • 4+ years of produce sales experience in at least one of the following markets: food processing, produce packaging, produce re-packers, custom print packaging, industrial bags, corrugated, flexible packaging, clamshells.
  • Experience in agricultural sales/operations in berries is highly desired.
  • Required to work independently and set goals for branch development and success.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers, and outside parties.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and oral/written communication skills
  • Moderate travel with overnight stays
  • Demonstrate a friendly and professional experience.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Work and Excel
